Call for Papers: Special Issue on Climate Science Communication
The Journal of Science Communication and Public Engagement, published on the Xpertia platform, is accepting submissions for a special issue on Climate Science Communication in the Post-Truth Era.
Submission deadline: May 15, 2026
This special issue invites original research articles, systematic reviews, and opinion pieces that examine how climate science findings are communicated to non-specialist audiences. Topics of interest include the effectiveness of different communication strategies across media formats, the role of scientists as public communicators, misinformation and its correction, and the ethics of science communication in politically polarised environments.
Submissions are accepted in English. The guest editors welcome work from a wide range of disciplines including communication studies, science journalism, environmental psychology, sociology of science, and climate science itself.
All submitted manuscripts will undergo double-blind peer review. The issue is planned for publication in late 2026 and will be fully open access. APCs are waived for authors from low-income countries.
Authors interested in submitting are encouraged to send a 250-word abstract to the editorial team in advance of the full submission to confirm fit with the issue scope.
